Whew! Set-up is always so time consuming! I know…duh!
Opening weekend went pretty well. Slightly down from last year. If the forecast had not been so bad for Sunday, we may have equaled the previous year. *shrug* Oh well, 7 more to go.
Rhonni did all the leg work, but we have decided to join the local gym for a month. 1) They will let us join for just a month. 2) Showers!
Today was my first day to go, and we enjoyed a very entertaining dance/aerobics class. It is based around Latin, Soul, and Urban beats. Very fun. This was the first week of new routines, so we all looked stupid together! That was nice.
I have no real dance experience, so was lost most of the time, but it got my heart rate up, and we had fun.
The showers! there was more working out, but he showers are the highlight. Did I mention the Sauna?
The showers are slate tile and deep, with all the hot water in the world. It makes the sad little cramped shower trailer stall look less that rustic, and downright unappealing in the extreme. I will happily drive the 10 miles for gorgeous showers.
I should finally get new electrical tomorrow, and I finally hear the privy truck. Oh Joy! It really is all about the simple pleasures.

The last couple of days have been deep in set-up. Finally that is all coming to fruition; tomorrow is opening. There have been employee hassles, and the usual amount of idiocy when dealing with fairs. This one does have its own peculiar brand of fascist rules, but life goes on, and we deal with it.
I went for a walk yesterday with Rhonni and Phil around site. It is a really lovely site. The wisteria is behind my house, and the other picture from up on the hill.
Today was also the Competitive Potluck. Rhonni made a gorgeous salad, and I made an apple pie. There was also bread pudding, and a Thai dish of coconut, mango and chicken. There were lots of other thing but I can only remember so much. *smile* The theme this week was “Whatever! Just bring somethin’!” Next week’s theme is Asia. I am uncertain what I will make, but maybe Vietnamese fresh rolls.
Happy Birthday tomorrow MaritaBeth. I miss you guys!
*hugs*

I should have taken this photo and the other wisteria pictures yesterday when the sky was blue and gorgeous. -sigh- Oh well. It will be nicer tomorrow so I will try again. The rain is sky it light and even for the wisteria to show up pretty. The grey of the sky almost strips the blue light from the flowers. We shall see if tomorrow is better. I want to get new ones before the leaves start coming in. They smell fabulous!
I have arrived safely in GA, and though there was weather, none of it here was bad; just rain. Tomorrow most of boxes should show up, and the actual set up dance can begin. Right now I am trying to get all my personal stuff organized and out of the way. Wheeeeeee!

This is somewhat preemptive, since I know I will not be posting tomorrow. Instead I will be driving to Fairburn, GA. My winter has come to its eventual end, and it is time for another Fair Season to begin. I have washed a mountain of laundry, and packed my van. All is good.
Today after Van packing Bert and I went and saw a movie, Knowing with Nicholas Cage. I liked it. I will say though that CGI has gotten so good that there are some things I do not want to see. I can pass right through all things fantastic, but CGI dramatizations of actual disasters? I do NOT need to see airplane crashes with burning people, or other devoured by a derailed subway train. Nope, my imagination is good enough thank you. I do not require realism. Otherwise, it was a good movie, and it contains an absolutely fabulous Victorian house. I could watch the movie again just for the house. OMG! More covet.
After the movie we went over to The Flying Saucer for a beer, and I took this picture out of one of the 2nd story windows looking out at Bass Hall.

Cheers, more soon.

Of course the weather today is odd, but it should not slow me down too much. I am already fairly well organized to actually begin the stuffing of tubs into my van, but I do need to finish several little project before I pack the machines down.
I have already heard from Rhonni about GA. One of the local gyms is offering us an $80 a month special to utilize the entire facility, and no contracts. We have decided that we will try that out this spring. She says the showers alone make it worth the experience. I am awful with routines I have to do alone. I am hoping that having her to go to the gym with will make it ever so much more fun, and we both certainly need to move more! I am sort of looking forward to it. I also want to get my bike there fixed, and use that to get around site.
Here is a house that showed up on www.oldhouses.com. I love this site!

I want a house just like it! Not that I can afford it, but I would say that that is a really good price considering the outbuildings, cottage, and 6 acres of land. I actually like Charlotte, NC, but I am sure by the time I go house buying, it would be sold. *smile*
I will say though, that it makes me really miss my house in Racine.

I helped Hal set up both Thursday and Friday for the opening weekend of Scarborough. That was fun. I always enjoy spending time with Hal, and being surrounded by pretty jewelry is always a good thing. My one weekend at Scarby was fun, too! Sat. was warm and busy. I visited all the people I could think of, and still missed some, even with two days to visit them in, but I did eat at Victors 4 separate times. *satisfaction* I miss doing this show.
-sigh-

Here is a little shirt I made for Starr and Joe as a surprise for their son Alex. It was so cute I could hardly stand it! Of course I was not smart enough to get a picture of him in it!
I am now organizing and packing for GA, or I should be. I have been doing so much sewing recently, that I find I have used up all my motivation. It will be warm and gorgeous tomorrow though, so cleaning of the van, and the start of packing it MUST occur!
Departure date is set for Saturday morning…early.

I have 4 minutes before it is Thursday, so this will be quick. I have been sewing. Nothing but sewing. A pile of stuff for MB, and making a couple of things for myself and friends. Also, fixing some pieces that needed a re-vamp.
Tomorrow though, I will be headed out to Scarborough to help Hal set-up. Finally something different, that will not continue to make my ass grow!

Here is a picture of Renaga’s booth form last spring. I will see if I can get one form this year, similar shot tomorrow.
I have not been there yet this season.
